So the big question…

What do I wear on a first date? There are so many dilemmas when it comes to this scenario. First off, how much do I want to impress this guy? Which really translates to, how worth it is he? Is this a guy you’ve secretly admired for some time? Or is this just another guy you met at your local hotspot? Whatever the answer, this look is perfect for any situation.

First, start with a simple top. You don’t want to give him too much at first glance, let your personality shine through. After all, it is only the first date. Next, leather skinny jeans show off your shape and add a little sex appeal. Throw on a favorite bangle paired with a simple necklace. The final touch is a clutch, delicate and classy for the perfect evening out.

So, even if he ends up being a disappointment, at least you look top of your game. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet someone worth talking to after your exit strategy. Happy dating!

Interning at EFGpr: First Day

Picture this…it’s the first day of your internship in New York City. After successfully navigating your way through the overcrowded and peculiarly fragrant subway, you walk into a high rise, enter the elevator and slowly watch the floor numbers light up as your impending destination approaches. You exit the elevator, double-check to make sure bagel remnants aren’t homesteading in your mouth and enter the office you have been dreaming (or having nightmares) about for the past few months.

For me, that office was Entertainment Fusion Group aka EFGpr. I entered into a huge room, where the walls consisted of exposed brick and vast windows stretching to the ceiling, letting in just the right amount of natural sunlight. While the room was stunning in itself, it was the employees working at their desks that really caught my attention. Each and every professional in the office was eye-catching…wearing just the right amount of make-up, dressed head to toe in distinctive ‘looks’, nails perfectly manicured, and not a single hair out of place. What I liked most, however, was that each person looked unique and dressed for her own personal style and individual shape.

Not only was everyone trying to look their best for themselves, but I believe they were doing it for the company. EFGpr, in my eyes, is a company that wants to get the word out about how to look and feel your absolute best. Whether that has to do with beauty, fashion or just general lifestyle, EFG’s employees have internalized this theme and applied it to their everyday life. Moral of the story… when I walk into this office everyday, I want to uphold that same image I encountered the first day of my internship. I also want to share with you, the reader, our employees’ latest fashion ideas and lifestyle tips!

Pride Month 2013

Coming from Indianapolis, Indiana, I can honestly say that I have never experienced Pride in the same way. I saw guys in bondage walking down Santa Monica Boulevard, packed bars, and grown men in heels strutting their stuff. It was a sight that I was and wasn’t prepared for, but that is a GOOD thing. Every city should have their own flare to Pride, and knowing the gays, as I am a gay male myself, we strive to be unique while keeping up with the latest “trends.”

If you haven’t been able to participate in any Pride activities yet, it’s not too late! San Francisco Pride is the weekend of June 29th through the 30th. So let’s see how they rock it out this year.

Our morning was MADE when news broke about H&M’s newest collaboration coming out on November 14th with Parisian designer Isabel Marant. This might be the only reason we are hoping summer goes by quickly.

Guess we better start saving up for our new fall wardrobe courtesy of H&M. :))

Nikki Reed not only attended last night’s book launch for Erik Wahl but, also performed and if you didn’t know… GIRL CAN SING! Besides falling in love with her beautiful voice we fell in LOVE with her shorts from All Saints. Over Memorial Day weekend we noticed a trend of printed shorts and we seem to be right! Not only are these shorts perfect for any look but they are supppper advanced i.e. technology. These luxurious silk shorts have been specially engineered with a digital leopard print that has been aligned for increased definition and texture. Who said technology and fashion doesn’t mix haven’t seen these shorts yet! Reed also wore a Pheris Cropped T-shirt and Cigarette Concealed 125 Heel. Both from All Saints.

Erik Wahl's Book Launch "UNthink: Rediscover Your Creative Genius"

Last night at Bootsy Bellows EFGPR threw Erik Wahl’s book launch for UNthink: Rediscover Your Creative Genius and it was AMAZE!

With an open bar, beautiful people and a performance by Nikki Reed and husband Paul Mcdonald the night also included a performance by the man himself Erik Walh rounding out the evening to the perfect amount of fun.

During Imagine Dragons ”Radioactive” Wahl, created a masterpiece(shown below) in the time that it takes most people to draw a stick figure. For those that aren’t familiar with who Wahl is here is the lowdown… he is an artist, author and an entrepreneur who has become a catalyst for inspiring professionals to achieve extraordinary levels of performance. He is internationally recognized as a thought provoking graffiti artist and all in all an awesome guy and here at 5th and Beverly we have fallen in LOVE with the guys work and personality!!!!

Team EFGPR had a blast throwing and attending the event and we can’t wait to finish our own copy of the book! Plus, it’s always a good night when you spot JC Chasez from NYSNC in the crowd (childhood fantasy complete).

Rad cars and an awesome team made the Cult of Individuality photo shoot a huge success! Check out Cult in Color this summer to add to your collection.

Our make up artist, Racine Mower, pulled out all of her tricks to bring a 50's rocker edge to the Cult in Color campaign.

Our head stylist, Arielle Shapiro got the looks just right with rockin accessories, layers, and edgy heels.

Afshin Ammadi made tousled hair, rockin up-do's, and loose curls the theme for his hairstyles in the shoot. Perfect.

The girl in charge, Alyssa Baker, on right, with EFG is the master mind behind the entire shoot. Being the creative director that she is, she had her vision and made it happen.

Our intern, and videographer for the day, Jake Stuart, shot behind the scenes clips and pics to give you a sneak peak of Cult in Color this season.

Sneak peek: Cult in Color Summer Campaign 2013

Yesterday we had the pleasure of working with a seriously AMAZE team who made the Cult of Individuality Cult in Color lookbook concept come to life. Everyone arrived early Monday morning at Estilo Salon to begin hair, makeup & wardrobe! The fashion bloggers (Hanna Beth, Fancy Hipster, Melanee Shale & Honey N Silk) began with retro-inspired hair by Afshin Ammadi, and make up by Racine Mower, while wardrobe stylist Arielle Shapiro perfect their outfits from head to toe. Our bad ass photographer David Schneider shot the looks at our go-to mechanic (Bob’s auto shop) complete with classic cars. Behind the scenes clips and interviews, hosted by Alyssa Baker, will give you an inside look of how it all came together!

Imagine Dragons at The Hollywood Palladium

We had a BLAST last night rocking out to the SOLD OUT Imagine Dragons concert at the famous Hollywood Palladium. EFG was lucky enough to attend and be a part of the crowd dancing and singing along to what was one of the best concerts we may have ever seen.

Gaining momentum in the past year with a completely sold out tour across America and Europe, Imagine Dragons have proved their staying power and we can’t wait to see them again. Who knows we might try stub hub and experience the night all over again tonight for their last show in Los Angeles.

If you ever have a chance to see them live… do yourself a favor and do it. From their stage presence to the playing drums upside down (yes he played drums while being propelled from the air hanging upside down and YES it was awesome) Imagine Dragons are a must for any music lover.

P.s Dan you might have a mullet but we are willing to look past it. Give us a call if you can!

Here is one trend from Memorial Day Weekend that we hopes continues on for the rest of summer… Printed Shorts!

Cult of Individuality has done it again with these Cult printed corduroy shorts which come in three different colors! They have just the right amount of stretch so you can play an impromptu game of volleyball on the beach or dance the night away with friends. Just pair these shorts with a simple tee or cropped tank for the daytime and throw on your favorite leather jacket for night! Don’t forget to accessorize!
